Immediately (first few days)

This stack unites three major compound groups: triterpenes and polysaccharides from Reishi, PSK and PSP protein-bound polysaccharides from Turkey Tail, and lentinan and eritadenine from Shiitake. How it is grown

PM combines three of the most grounding and restorative mushrooms, Reishi, Turkey Tail, and Shiitake, each cultivated with precision and respect for their natural ecology to ensure purity, potency, and sustainability.

Reishi is cultivated at our solar-powered farm in Ballarat, Victoria.
This slow-growing species requires patience and stability, with fruiting bodies taking several months to mature. The grow rooms are maintained at elevated humidity and moderate warmth, encouraging the development of the lacquered red-brown surface that signals triterpene formation. Airflow moves slowly, replicating the stillness of the forest where Reishi naturally thrives. Once the fruiting bodies reach full maturity and the edges curl inward, they are harvested and dried under controlled conditions to preserve their complex chemistry. The spent substrate is composted and cycled back into the system, returning nutrients to new growth and completing the sustainable loop that defines Reishi’s natural life cycle.

Turkey Tail is cultivated in the Yarra Valley by Tom Bell.
Thriving on lignin-rich material, Turkey Tail plays a vital role in nature’s recycling of forest matter. To replicate that environment, we use a sterilised mix of Australian hardwood sawdust. Once inoculated, each block is incubated as the mycelium weaves through the substrate, forming dense white mats that resemble the forest floor beneath fallen logs. Unlike most cultivated species, Turkey Tail performs best outdoors, where it experiences the temperature shifts and natural airflow that promote strong fruiting. When the characteristic bands of blue, brown, and cream fully form, the mushrooms are harvested, air-dried, and immediately processed for extraction to preserve the integrity of their bioactive compounds.

Shiitake is cultivated at our Victorian farm using a blend of Australian hardwood sawdust and organic wheat bran as substrate.
This mixture mirrors the decaying trees Shiitake favours in its native forests, providing the dense carbon source it needs to develop its signature umami flavour and complex bioactive profile. The blocks are sterilised with steam, inoculated with culture, and incubated in complete darkness until the mycelium fully colonises the substrate. This long incubation period allows the mycelium to build strength before fruiting is triggered. To initiate growth, we introduce fresh airflow, filtered light, and subtle temperature changes that mimic the shift of seasons on the forest floor. Within days, firm, aromatic caps rich in lentinan and ergothioneine begin to form. Once harvested, the fruiting bodies are processed immediately for extraction, and the spent substrate is composted back into local agriculture, returning life to the soil that began it.

Together, these cultivation methods unite traditional wisdom with modern environmental control, producing mushrooms that embody PM’s purpose: balance, restoration, and deep, sustained nourishment.

How it is extracted

In our biotech lab, Dr Kyle Thomson and our team fractionate each harvested mushroom; that is, we divide it into distinct chemical groups (fractions) based on solubility, structure, and behavior.

Each fraction is then run through a bespoke extraction method. We carefully adjust: temperature, agitation, dilution, extraction time, and sonication settings, to extract and preserve each class of bioactive compounds without damage.

We avoid concentrating only one compound (e.g. beta-glucans). Instead, after the individual extractions, the fractions are recombined to mirror the natural “full-spectrum” balance found in the mushroom.

For stability and versatility, we use dual-extraction (water + alcohol). Some compounds (like triterpenoids, sterols, flavonoids) are not water-soluble and require alcohol to unlock them.

In our final blend, we maintain a 1:1.44 extract ratio (i.e. 3600 mg dual-extracted mushroom per dose).

To support consumer needs, we also offer alcohol-free versions. The alcohol is removed (via rotary evaporation), and the extract is stabilised with certified organic apple cider vinegar, instead of glycerin and synthetic preservatives.

Species and strain

Each mushroom in the AM Stack is cultivated from verified, research-backed species and strains selected for their authenticity, potency, and genetic integrity. MYCRO partners with global culture banks and expert cultivators to ensure each represents the true species behind its traditional use and modern scientific validation.

Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus)
Only Hericium erinaceus is true Lion’s Mane. While several Hericium species exist across the world, only H. erinaceus has been clinically studied for its ability to stimulate nerve growth factor, support cognitive function, and promote neuroprotection. MYCRO exclusively cultivates H. erinaceus strains sourced from the world’s leading culture banks. Each culture is genetically verified, ensuring the highest purity, consistent bioactive yield, and the authentic characteristics that define this renowned nootropic mushroom.

Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris)
Only cultivated Cordyceps militaris produces the true fruiting body used in modern research and safe human supplementation. Wild species such as Cordyceps sinensis cannot be reliably farmed, and native varieties like C. gunnii remain poorly studied and are not pharmacologically comparable. MYCRO cultures are pure C. militaris, bred from isolated spores collected from multiple global regions to maintain genetic diversity and resilience. Every strain is verified through microscopic and genetic profiling, then tested for fruiting performance and cordycepin concentration, ensuring each batch reflects the authentic, research-validated species behind Cordyceps’ reputation for energy and endurance.

Maitake (Grifola frondosa, Strain 9827)
We cultivate Grifola frondosa Strain 9827, the global reference strain for Maitake, originally isolated for its exceptional fruiting consistency and high beta-glucan yield. Held in the world’s leading culture banks, this strain serves as the benchmark for clinical and nutritional research. Each culture is purity-tested and periodically rejuvenated to prevent genetic drift, ensuring every generation expresses the same biochemical fingerprint that defines authentic Maitake.

How to use

Start your day with clarity and steady energy. Shake your Lion’s ManeCordyceps, and Maitake bottles to lift the natural sediment, this is where the active compounds settle.

Draw 2.5 mL from the bottle using the dropper and add into a glass of water. The liquid will swirl briefly, then clear.

Drink two hours before sleep, as you begin to winddown.
