Modern research connects Lion’s Mane’s hericenones and erinacines with brain cell activity and nerve growth, while Reishi’s triterpenes and polysaccharides are linked to immune regulation and sleep quality.

This pairing represents the beginning and end of a good day, one for mental performance, one for restoration. Both are cultivated and extracted in Australia, ensuring full traceability from farm to bottle.

SPECIES AND STRAIN

Only Hericium erinaceus is true Lion’s Mane.

Whilst there are many Hericium species dotted all over the globe, and these may have some similar compounds, these are not Lion’s Mane.

Hericium erinaceus is the only species clinically studied for nerve growth factor stimulation, cognitive effects, and neuroprotection.

We, for this reason, exclusively grow Hericium erianceus strains sourced from the world's leading culture banks.

Reishi is a collective name for several species within the Ganoderma genus, often written as Ganoderma spp. to reflect its taxonomic complexity.

Thousands of years of traditional use, combined with decades of scientific misclassification between Ganoderma lucidum and Ganoderma lingzhi, have created significant confusion in the literature. What was once referred to simply as “Reishi” is now understood to represent a group of closely related species, each with slightly different bioactive profiles.

Modern research has shifted from naming to quantifying biomarkers, particularly triterpenes and polysaccharides, as the true indicators of potency and authenticity.

We leverage this global field of research to select domestically available Ganoderma strains with demonstrably high triterpenoid content, verified through both analytical testing and controlled cultivation trials. These strains exhibit the characteristic varnished surface, red-brown pigmentation, and dense fruiting texture associated with mature, bioactive Reishi.

HOW IT'S GROWN

Lion’s Mane is cultivated at our solar-powered farm in Ballarat, Victoria.

This facility is overseen by one of Australia’s most experienced growers: Jason Crosbie, cofounder of MYCRO.

Every environmental variable (light, airflow, temperature, humidity) is engineered to maximise bioactive development from the moment the superfood's life cycle begins.

Whilst on rare occasions found growing on living trees, Lion’s Mane is a saprophytic mushroom, meaning it feeds on dead hardwoods in forests.
To replicate this, we use a substrate of hardwood sawdust blended with lupin hulls, two organic Australian agricultural byproducts.

The nitrogen-rich lupin drives both higher yields and greater bioactive concentration.

The substrate is sterilised with steam then inoculated with culture, living Lion’s Mane mycelium sourced from research institutions and culture banks.

This begins colonisation, where the mycelium consumes the substrate in controlled incubation.

Once colonised, blocks are moved into the fruiting rooms. These spaces are designed to mimic a forest floor: cool, oxygen-rich, naturally lit, and kept in constant but slow airflow.

Once the mycelium has fully colonised the substrate it is moved into the growing environment.

When tooth-like spines reach ~10mm, the mushroom is harvested at peak maturity.

The spent substrate is composted, and the fresh fruiting body begins the extraction process.

Reishi is also cultivated at our Ballarat farm.

This slow-growing species requires precision and patience, with fruiting bodies taking months to mature.

Tbe grow room is kept at elevated humidity and moderate warmth, encouraging the varnished, lacquer-like surface that signals triterpene development. The air moves slowly, echoing the forest’s stillness, a living continuation of its natural life cycle.

Once the fruiting bodies deepen to a rich red-brown and the edges curl inward, they are harvested and dried under controlled conditions to preserve their complex chemistry.

The spent substrate is once again composted and cycled back into the system, returning nutrients to new growth, completing the sustainable loop of life that Reishi has always represented.

HOW IT'S EXTRACTED

In our biotech lab, Dr Kyle Thomson and our team fractionate each harvested mushroom; that is, we divide it into distinct chemical groups (fractions) based on solubility, structure, and behavior.

Each fraction is then run through a bespoke extraction method. We carefully adjust: temperature, agitation, dilution, extraction time, and sonication settings, to extract and preserve each class of bioactive compounds without damage.

We avoid concentrating only one compound (e.g. beta-glucans). Instead, after the individual extractions, the fractions are recombined to mirror the natural “full-spectrum” balance found in the mushroom.

For stability and versatility, we use dual-extraction (water + alcohol). Some compounds (like triterpenoids, sterols, flavonoids) are not water-soluble and require alcohol to unlock them.

In our final blend, we maintain a 1:1 extract ratio (i.e. 1000 mg dual-extracted mushroom per mL).

To support consumer needs, we also offer alcohol-free versions. The alcohol is removed (via rotary evaporation), and the extract is stabilised with certified organic apple cider vinegar, instead of glycerin and synthetic preservatives.

HOW TO USE

Mornings start with clarity. Shake your Lion’s Mane bottle, draw up one millilitre, and add it to a glass of water.
The liquid fans out through the glass - bright, clean, alive - the quiet beginning of a sharper day.

Evenings end with calm. Shake your Reishi bottle, measure one millilitre, and add it to a small glass of water or herbal tea.
Watch it swirl and settle as the room softens around you, a slow exhale that tells your body it’s time to power down.
